Heavy-Duty Drum Gear Coupling | Crowned Tooth Design · Angular Misalignment 1°30' · 99.7% Efficiency | Henan Sankuang Machinery
Drum gear couplings are suitable for low-speed, heavy-load conditions, widely used in shaft transmissions for metallurgy, mining, crane transport, petroleum, chemical, and general machinery. Transmission efficiency: up to 99.7%.
Actual Case: A mining belt conveyor drive system originally used straight-tooth couplings. Foundation settlement caused approximately 0.8° angular misalignment, resulting in severe edge loading and wear with service life under 6 months. After switching to our drum gear couplings (1°30' angular compensation), service life extended to over 18 months, reducing client maintenance costs by approximately 65%.

Manufacturing Process:
Forged blank → normalizing → rough turning → semi-finish turning → gear hobbing (crowned tooth tooling) → carburizing + hardening (HRC 58-62) → finish turning → gear grinding → tooth profile inspection → assembly → dynamic balancing
Material: 42CrMo or 45# carbon steel forgings, tooth surface HRC 58-62, core HRC 30-35.
